Charles Henry Eckhart III has served as Music Department Administrator at Marywood University, Chief Administrative Officer at Lehigh Valley Cultural Center and has served as Musical Director for many Theatrical Productions at the college level. As a performer, Mr. Eckhart has performed with the Masterworks Chorale in Allentown, PA under the direction of George Boyer and Paula Ring-Zerkle, Northeastern Oratorio Society, Wilkes Barre PA under the late Clifford Balshaw (d.), The Choral Society, Dallas PA under Dr. John Curtiss, The Cantata Singers, Elmira NY under William Wickham and The Sound of America Honor Band and Choir under Clyde Barr and Daniel D. Shaw.
Mr. Eckhart has studied voice with Dr. Douglas M Crowder, Dr. Earl Youngsuk Kim, Dr. Harry Mechelle, Dr. Michael Larkin, Dr. Elizabeth Ellis, Ms. Suk Soon Kim and Jerry Stone Jr. He has studied piano with Harry Trebilcox, Betty Porsuczek, Sister Mary Carmel McGarigle (d.) and theory with Richard Dower (d.). Notably, Mr. Eckhart has sung under the batons of Cyril Stretansky, Dr. Peter Bagley, Dr. Peggy Detwiler, Dr. Bill Weinert, Joan Turel as well as the aforementioned voice instructors.
Mr. Eckhart holds Dual Bachelor Degrees from Mansfield University, Mansfield PA [one in Music the other in Interdisciplinary Studies whereby he had independently produced and directed Management/Marketing of Special Events] and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Management from Misericordia University, Dallas PA. Mr Eckhart’s post-graduate work also includes Major Trends in Graphic Arts, Grant Writing / Fundraising and Instructional Technology.
A recipient of the Who’s Who in Music Award, Mr. Eckhart has taught in a variety of styles and environments that include: analog, digital synthesis, midi, rock and blues piano methods, waveform layering, classical to contemporary vocal styles, Individual one-on-one lessons as well as group lessons on piano, keyboard and organ. His performance history includes a vast array of experiences including rock bands, hotel dining room entertainment, soloist, chorister, adjudicator and clinician. As an active clinician for high school students, Mr. Eckhart volunteers with pre-production events leading up to the final performance. He specializes in diction, enunciation, facial expression, vocal sound production, confidence building, body language, choreography, lighting, sound engineering and system placement as well as the technical aspects of a multi-media show.
Prior to returning to the Lehigh Valley, Mr. Eckhart worked in marketing of large special events, businesses and organizations. He brings a wealth of information to an individual or group who seeks familiarity in creating and marketing of their ideas; bands, shows, labeling. branding, styles and functions.
