LESSON POLICY & PRICES

1 hour = $65

Teens, adults, highly motivated +/or double instruments (ex: piano/voice)

45 min = $52 Ages seven and up. The majority of our students take 45 minute lessons.

30 min = $35 Young children under 7 years old.

(Travel/convenience fee may apply for outlying areas including parts of Schnecksville, Forks Township, Easton, Hereford, Zionsville, Hellertown, Macungie)

Travel/convenience fees range from a minimum of $5 to a maximum of $15 depending on travel time and proximity to MMA.

Tuition
Students must maintain a consistent weekly schedule in order to keep their time slot and teacher. If they do not, we reserve the right to fill their slot with someone from the waiting list.

Payment by semester:
Payment by the semester is available and must be received by our office and paid for in full prior to the first lesson. Payment for the year is available and must be received in full prior to the first lesson.  Yearly payments (based on the school year Sept 01-June 15) are eligible for a 5% discount.  Please call our office to make arrangements for yearly payments.  Please note; both full semester and yearly payments are subject to the same cancellation policies as monthly payments.

Sept / Oct / Nov / Dec

16 Lessons x $35 = $560 - 5% = $532

16 Lessons x $52 = $832 - 5% = $790

16 Lessons x $65 = $1040 - 5% = $988

Monthly Payments:
Payment for the month is due the LAST lesson of the month.  Checks should be made out to Metropolitan Music Academy.  If you know you are going to be away the first lesson of the month please pay ahead of time.  If you unexpectedly have to cancel please promptly mail the check to the facility.

You may stop your lessons any time. Two weeks notice is required.

Cancellation Policy
For lessons cancelled by MMA for any reason, tuition will be refunded directly to the student unless a makeup lesson is requested.

Lessons cancelled by the student, by the 15th of the previous month (2 weeks in advance) will not be charged. Maximum one cancellation per month – all others will be billed. 

Lessons cancelled otherwise fall into the emergency cancellation category.


Emergency Cancellations:
Lessons cancelled by the student due to illness or emergency may be eligible for makeup as outlined below. If your child is home sick from school please DO NOT have them take a lesson.

Lessons that are cancelled with at least 4 hours advance notice are eligible for makeup with a limit of 3 *emergency* cancellations per school year.

Makeup Lessons:
Makeup lessons are scheduled only into time slots cancelled by other students. There is no guarantee as to when makeup lessons may be available.

Makeup lessons have no financial value and may not be used to reduce future month’s tuition payments.



Referrals
We are happy to share our love of music with your friends or neighbors. Please have any referrals call the School directly to request a teacher that you have recommended.

Your teacher is at your house only to teach
Teachers are not to be left alone without a designated guardian. They are not baby-sitters and cannot be responsible for the welfare or transportation of your child.


Taking a break
If you wish to take a break from lessons two weeks notice is required to cancel with the instructor. If you take a month or more off (including summer) you are not guaranteed the same teacher upon resuming lessons and you need to re-register with the school.

Switching teachers
If you would like to try another instructor for any reason, please call the office. We are alway happy to speak with you.

Taking off this summer?
We are more than happy to welcome you back in the fall and provide you with a fantastic new teacher. 

Note: without a pre-paid retainer fee we cannot guarantee you the same teacher.
 
Want to keep the same teacher in the fall?
Students who are already with a teacher in the school – and want to retain that teacher come fall – either need to pre-pay a $150.00 retainer fee
